Froch vs Kessler

I don't really watch boxing but Kessler seems like a nice guy in the interviews I've seen so I'm hoping he wins. Not sure what it is but most British boxers irritate me in the way they carry themselves with the media.

Styles make fights and I'm expecting an all out war tonight. Neither have the speed, skill or cowardliness of an Andre Ward but both are hard as nails, can punch through walls and won't back down.

Winner has a rematch with Ward, loses on points and retires and the beaten boxer retires tonight imo.

Kessler is class. Froch said to the Gaurdian:
“On Saturday night, if I have to, I will kill this ******. I will kill him. It sounds brutal, it sounds horrible, but that is what this means to me.

Kessler responded on Twitter:

"@Carl_Froch Says he wants to kill me - thats not very polite :-))"

Kessler maybe. I think Froch thinks too highly of himself to retire if he loses. Although I'd quite like to see him win and potentially take on Ward again, even though Ward will probably take him to school again.

If Froch wins he'll probably fight Ward again. Both boxers want it to happen but Ward won't leave the States. Last time they tried to make it happen in London Ward priced himself out of the fight so even if Froch had the upper hand the home judges would still rule in favour of Ward imo. Basically, Froch has nowhere to go after tonight.

Has he ever expressed thoughts of moving up a weight? Following in the footsteps of Calzaghe, perhaps he'd want to be a two weight champ before retiring. I don't see him fighting any of the light heavy guys, but who knows.

Not even considered that. When you look at the LH division you've got Bernard Hopkins who's old, Jean Pascal and Lucian Bute who Froch has already beaten a Nathan Cleverly who would offer and good British showdown so perhaps he could step up. I'd certainly fancy his chances against those four.

Well this is it, I don't see Bute wanting to fight him again, Cleverly has nothing to gain from fighting him except a nice payday for the all British aspect, Pascal was well beaten by Froch before, don't see what Froch gains from beating him again, especially with no title. I'd want to fight Hopkins, especially as he gave Calzaghe his closest fight, and also has the titles.

Looking forward to this fight, can't see it being anything other then an all out war. May start slow but as soon as a big shot lands either way, the other will step forward and give it right back. I'm hoping for a Froch late stoppage but see him winning on points as the most likely outcome. Both guys come to fight so it should be good.

Champions League final. Froch Kessler. Monaco. Championship playoff final.

Pretty good sporting (long)weekend by all accounts =D
