from 8 to 16...

Hi

I currently have a samsung 7200 12GB 8MB, if i upgrade to say a Barracuda 7200.10 250GB 16MB will i notice any difference for game/windows load times/noise?

I wouldnt say so, but you should be looking forward to having more than 8Gb~ to play with

edit: Sound wise, it will probably be quieter. I'm guessing that 12GB is quite old? The newer drives are getting more silent

Back in 12Gb days 256k to 512k cache was more or less the norm, 8mb did'nt really come into play until the WD JB drives became popular if memory serves right.

And as for the OP, you might see a bit of difference yes, not drastic but noticeable imo, not so much because of cache, but better overall technology.

yep ** right 120GB, whoops, couldnt get very far these days on 12!
