Just ordered a GTX460 and i'm wondering if i need to reformat in order to avoid any driver conflicts since my current card is ATI?

It's not the end of the world if i do, but i'd rather not have to bother if it's avoidable in any way.

Also, is it worth installing any of the drivers and/or software that comes with the 460 or should i just download the latest drivers and use Afterburner for overclocking and such?

Thanks.

No. No need to format at all. Just uninstall your ATi drivers, and reboot. Remove the card. Insert new card. Install latest Nvidia drivers from Nvidia website.

just uninstall the ati drivers , run driver sweeper/cleaner whatever shut down , plug in nvidia gfx , reboot job done.

i did it recently going to a 460 aswell and ive not had any issues and my performance is where it should be in benchmarks , games etc

I went from a 4870X2 to a 480SLI setup by uninstalling the ATI drivers, shutting down the machine, swapping the hardware over and then restarting.

Piece of cake.

Well for me l always do a clean install.

Go with uninstall ati drivers then run CCleaner using the registry cleaner setting, shut down , plug in nvidia gfx , clear Bios, reboot, install latest drivers download then first, reboot, job done.

But now and again it goes belly up, as l say l do a clean install, l know its abind but you get it right 1st time.
