Watching this movie earlier today - wondered if anyone else has seen it and their thoughts? It stars a shaven headed, goatee wearing John Travolta and Mission Impossible 3's Jonathan Rhys Meyers. This seems to me to fit in the category of one those action type movies where you simply disengage your brain and watch.

Travolta strikes me as far too old (he's 56) to be jumping off rooftops and beating up / disarming French gang members while snorting coke and appearing to be indestructible. He carried off the role as well as he could but I think his days of Broken Arrow, Swordfish and Pulp Fiction main action man movies are behind him. Jonathan Rhys Meyers just seemed to stumble from scene to scene following Travolta's shirt tails and not really doing much else.

I thought it was a pretty disappointing movie and certainly not one I'd rush to watch again.

Whats the deal with the "Royale with cheese" line in this. is it some sly wink to his PF role or some crappy tenuous link between the characters that Hollywood invented for ticket sales?

Personally i thought it was pretty awesome...like you said switch your brain off and watch it is the type of movie it is...i couldnt give a flying toss why he was bald and why he was jumping around, taking out french teenagers nor could i give a hoot if he was jumping across buildings...

FACT is that its an action movie....i swear some of you in here are closet film critics:p.

Definitely would watch this again...in fact ill probably watch it again tonight for the sheer madness that is Travolta...definitely steals the show and found him highly enjoyable to watch.

Saw the ad last night on TV, certainly not one I would waste my time watching. Travolta, bald with a goatee? No thanks.

we enjoyed this film, unlike his previous one with my fave actor denzel washington "taking of the pellham 123" which was complete utter toss

I thought it was pretty good, i don't think the character would have had the same impact i he wasn't an aging oddly looking bald man, personally i was impressed i could disengage and just enjoy.

Really want to see this, can't think of any Travolta action flicks I didn't enjoy. Broken Arrow, Face Off, Swordfish, Pelham 123 all good.

Very impressed with this film; I didn't realise it was by Luc Besson until it started, so I knew it was going to be a good one. For the first hour, I had no idea where the story was going, but then it just clicked and took an unexpected turn for the serious, yet it was still great. Good watch, recommended.

I watched this the other day and I'm definitely in the "enjoyed it" camp. Thought it was a fairly amusing action packed action film. The story was nothing hugely complicated and clever but then, most action films aren't. It's not what you see action films for... Well, I don't anyway.
