From Symbian to Windows Mobile.. should I move?
Hi, I need a little advice on mobiles phones
Background:
I've currently own a Nokia N80 on a 12 month contract with 6 months remaining.
I bought the phone because it has it's own OS and I could do funky things with it (e.g. TomTom), but now I'm bored with it. Also, it's very slow and that can become quite a pain at times.
Next step:
I find the Symbian OS to be quite slow, especially as I have many apps installed and a large memory card inserted (+2GB), so I'm thinking of trying out phones using Windows Mobile 5/6. Good choice? Can I expect Windows Mobile to have a similar slowness at times?
Options:
1 - Sell my Nokia N80 and buy a secondhand HTC TyTN to use for the remaining of my contract (note that both are similiar in price and so it's more or less a straight swap). In this time I can see for myself what type of mobile I prefer. When I renew my contract (in March/April) I will then buy the best Symbian/Windows phone currently out and intend to keep that for a few years.
2 - Wait a couple of months (to save up), sell my Nokia N80 and buy a new(ish) HTC TyTN II which I can keep for a few years.
What would you suggest? I guess it's all down to whether there will be anything more useful than the HTC TyTN II half a year from now. I understand that a new Windows Mobile is set to be realeased in the first half of next year so I expect a cool new HTC to be out too.
I prefer option 1
Edit:
