From Windows to Mac...

The office I start work in January wants to be all Apple machines for various commerical reasons.

As a Windows developer am I going to have a seizure switching from Windows to Mac or are they a lot more similar now than I remember (~13 years ago).

And do they still only have one mouse button!?

It will take a little to get used to but I can't see any problems. What language do you code in?

PHP/MySQL/JQuery which should be fine because Netbeans IDE runs on Mac as far as I can tell.

I can't see any issues at all. You'll be able to test your php / mysql apps locally easily enough too.

Does it have the equivalent SSH terminal program of say PuTTy?
And filezilla?

SSH is built into the system as it is *NIX. IIRC Filezilla have an OSX installer.

Transmit and Cyberduck are good Mac alternatives to Filezilla too.

Apart from getting used to using the Apple key instead of Ctrl and the @ and " keys being switched, there's not much difference.

The current generation of iMacs come with the magic mouse.

You can program them to have left click; right click; scroll; rotate etc.

I was contemplating buying a Mac alongside my current build, but I am a windows expert and that is what I want to stay as. Though Mac OS X is just **** easy to use.

Yeah the magic mouse is kinda like a touchpad. More here
