Not really had to look at replacing one of these before but I do now. I am aware of Yale and that's about as far it goes, anyone have a lock manufacturer recommendation.
Looking for a 40/55 barrel with possibly an internal thumb twist. 3* Euro?
Andi.

A mate of mine & master locksmith came around and swapped all of our locks to Ultion recently, removing the Yales he'd fitted a few years ago. I know nothing about locks but he said they were the best and that's good enough for me.

£1000 guarantee if a scrote manages to snap one and get into the house, plus some kind of password system is needed if you want extra keys cutting.

Ultion locks looking like twice the price of the other recommended ones.
Andi.

Can of worms on this forum tbh. Ultions are the best, no lock is invincible so you're about to get the "what's the point" brigade come in and say just that. Also they just say "windows" a lot to counter any argument about why locks are worthwhile.

Basically you're not looking to make your house invincible, just make it more effort than your neighbours.

Oh they'll also say "expensive locks just make it look like you've something worth stealing"

So just buy what you think is fair price.

Ultion all the way.
As said above, its more about stopping the opportunist. The lock is quite obvious to an intruder. If it makes them think twice, its done its job.
As a bonus, I had them all key matched. So one key for all doors.

I've got an ABS Avocet which compared to the Ultion I think I prefer, 6 pins vs 11, but the Avocet uses a tiny magnet in the key to pull one of the pins so makes picking it a lot harder I would imagine. Also the keys look nicer in my opinion.

I got these too after a friends house had a failed attempted break in and used these locks.

I also use ABS Avocet. Although ironically 2 days after giving a key out to a family member their keys were stolen so I had to replace them all!

FYI (and linked to the point above about thumb turns), the family members keys and brand new car were stolen by turning the thumb turn through the letter box, even though there was a security cover and configured exactly how the house was built.
