I have heard about these blocks you can get for front panel connections (power, HDD LED etc.) that you plug all your wires into instead of plugging them directly into the motherboard. This allows you to remove only the block and not all the individual wires which will make your life easier.

Anyone able to shed some light or has any idea which one I need for a 890GPA-UD3H?

You mean one one these:

They're supplied with the motherboard and not sold separately so it depends if your motherboard manufacturer supplies them.

You may get one second hand but it would have to match the pin layout for your motherboard.

Every asus board ive owned in recent years came with theese.

a8n sli deluxe
a8n 32 sli deluxe
p5q deluxe
p6t deluxe v2

Same here, all Asus boards i have had has come with these. Never use them though. Looks neater with the cables plugged directly into the headers and the cables tucked out of sight.

you can buy them fuly populated, (as in all pins conected) that way you remove the pins you are not going to use to suit your motherboard and your sorted.

Any idea where I could get one of those fully populated connectors? Couldn't find any with a search. Please send me a trust if you know where!

google "dil pct vert", i believe that is what they are called (not 100% certain though)

you can get various lengths 2x5, 2x10, 2x20 etc just cut it down to the size you want.

edit: yes they are dil vert sockets

Good shout there, I'll look at getting one! Will those pins at the bottom fit the front panel connectors OK do you reckon?
