Frosty's 780Ti X79 Overhaul

Me neither now - had great problems recently with Lamptron. What fan controller are you going to use?

I've gone for a couple of Lian-Li dial ones. Can't be done with the touch screen stuff. Still running passive on one 780 Ti till they arrive. Although I am enjoying the silence :)

Waiting on the Phyobia SLi fittings.

Last card done though :)

Aye I've got some velcro from Homebase :)

quick snap from last night.

Temps: 4960X @ 4.7Ghz (1.4V) 60C max

GPUs - idle 20-23-22 - Load 40c - 41c - 43c

As I expected from experimenting with the ref cooler the lower temps make the core much more stable. Where as on air I was able to hit 1240mhz as a maximum, not a playable clock either. With a quick play last night I was able to hit 1290Mhz (1.150v).

Firestrike Air Score: 11900

Firestrike Water Score: 12300

Heaven 4.0 Air Score: 1714

Heaven 4.0 Water Score: 1832

Had to use the drain valve to change a tube, works really well. Excuse the mess ;)

Very nice. Was that CPU temp under firestrike or heaven? Can't help thinking there is something amis with my recent 4930K implementation, using an EK block. My temps are similar to yours, room ambient around 19-20C, with the chip at 1.212v/4.4Ghz. You've got more radiator coverage but an extra GPU. My GPU temps (only 780's) are the same as yours 20/22. Not seen over 67C in game (BF4) so trying not to think about it.

That was after heaven and firestrike, 60c was the max :). Could be anything, fan speed, rad coverage, pump speed, run length.

I got worse temps with just the CPU on a 420mm loop. 76C @ 1.4v. More rad space the better

Cheers Greg. It was actually half your fault that I did all this in the first place, as when I saw your CPU temps under load in the Tomb Raider bench I realised just how lack luster one 420mm radiator was lol :D

Nothing much to add. Have just been enjoying having it up and running again :)

Temps on GPUs hover around 40-50C underload after a long stint - water temperate between 30-38C when all three cards are in use.

I still haven't been bothered to clock all three cards in sync. I know that one of them is a terrible clocker, so am going to have to fiddle a fair bit to get a decent overclock going in Tri SLI.

But that is the whole fun of doing this sort of thing - gives you an excuse to fiddle and tweak until your hearts content. Lol:D
Just don't break anything !!!!!!

Looking great Mr Frosty.
