I've got a few chicken legs and drumsticks that have been in the freezer for probably the best part of a year now. I used to defrost, cook and and consume my chicken pretty quickly and this is the longest I've ever keep frozen chicken. Do you think it'll still be ok to defrost and cook or is it wiser to throw it out?

It will be fine. Maybe some freezer burn but I doubt you’d even notice the difference in taste.

Of course it will be ok, get them into you. Absolutely no point binning them, that would be a waste of perfectly good food. I've had food stored in the freezer for years and it's been perfectly fine.

old chicken legs / thighs for me are bung into the pressure cooker (frozen) along with frozen off cuts of veg and I make it into stock :)

Forgot to tag, sorry! @robfosters Im not a vegetarian, I just rarely eat meat unless I’m willing to pay for the best (organic ideally as they have the best requirements for living outdoors, as an example). That does mean that meat is expensive, but if I can’t afford it then I don’t eat it.

Bulk, cheap chicken is the epitome of the attitude problem that we have with eating meat and the meat that we buy.
