I've got quite a few Amazon vouchers to use and we could do with a semi-decent frying pan. We've got a Le Creuset griddle but we need just an all-round daily. There's obviously thousands out there so what would people recommend?

Budget probably around £50, although no idea really. Would also be interested in a set for more (either 2/3 sized pans or a pan and some matching pots).

Tefal red spot and throw it away when the anti stick starts coming away, as everyday pans le crueset are a pain everyday with modern dishwashers .

We sold ours never used them and swapped for stellar

As above, cheap £15/20 one does fine for a few years.

When it peels, buy a new one. A frying pan doesn't need to last 10 years.

Doesn't really matter I bought a le crueset frying pan and it was a pain, hot handle, pain to clean and heavy which doesn't suit the wife.

Got a red spot pan for day to day and it's great simple light weight and easy to clean

maccapacca is bang on the money, don't spend loads on a frying pan. Use abuse then replace :)

EDIT: Forgot to say I have a couple from M&S and they do the job nicely. Oh and if you want to splash some cash, buy a small pan and keep it for fried eggs only.

I have the Circulon Elite 24cm and 30cm frying pans. After using Tefal for years I finally spent that little bit more and couldn't be happier. After two years of ownership they still look almost new and much better than any tefal did after the first use.

as said initially the tefal red spots are a great cheap pan. i have a Royal Dolton 'Gordon Ramsay' Saute pan and although its a great pan it never gets used as its a bit too big and heavy and the metal handle gets hot so i reach for the tefal one every time and ive had it 4 years and its still going strong.

About to replace my set of Le Creuset pans. They look great but are too heavy for everyday use. (Try flipping pancakes in the cast iron pan!)

I'm looking at getting an All Clad fry pan and saute pan as I Have heard a lot of good things about them.

26cm Tefal redspot get my vote.

Hard to find ones without plastic rubber on handles as I like to be able to put my pans in the oven if necessary.

I can highly recommend Le Creuset, very well made pots and pans.
Their pans are not practical for daily use IMO. I have a griddle pan which I use every now and then, no way would I use one daily. Pans would be a slightly different matter as my mother-in-law has a couple she uses regularly and they are great to spread heat evenly (good for rice etc)

Tefal Specifics, oven safe handles and great pans, had a set of them for 5 years and the wok's only just started losing it's non-stick

I'm moving to Circulon next. I bought a Tefal red spot a while back but, within a couple of weeks it had warped and won't sit flat. Unfortunately, before I could send it back for a replacement, I dropped it and bent the rim so I'm stuck with it :(

I stayed a few days with my brother over Christmas and he has some Circulon Infinite pans and the frying pans were very good. Nice even heat and can take a fair bit of abuse.

I'll have a look at Circulon Stan, I have naff cheapo ones from Asda, they work but it's just straight blistering heat and smoke. :p
