sort of asked a similar question before - but I'm baffled again

have a P5B-Deluxe and a Q6600 (1.325 VID one)

3.55 gig is totally stable @ x9 multi - at very high vcore - 1.55V (bios)

at 3.4 gig on a x8 multi - its stable - can prime for hours no problems - and generally works perfectly

except randomly I'll get a no boot - perhaps once in a week - maybe 2 weeks of use - no post - sometimes takes 20 or so power down/ups to get back to safe bios mode to reset

I'm considering a Q9550 - but no point if say 420fsb is my limit on my mobo anyway

so any ideas wo whether I'm more likely that I'm suffering these problems as its a FSB limit on my CPU ? or my Motherboard ?

I'm thinking possibily CPU ? as I can't get to 3.5 gig on the x8 multi

the daft thing is the mobo should be more stable on the x8 strap >400fsb as its on a slower strap

any ideas please ?

Lower the multiplier to keep the overclock lower, then up the fsb, if it fails, then you know its the mobo, if it doesnt fail then its the chip with a fsb wall.
