Alright guys, He is my setup

I have recently just got a macbook pro which is great and i have a pentium d 3gig with 2 gig ram and a ati readeon which is good ( not sure what it is off hand)

anyho have just bought a belkin switch2 so i can share my big monitor between mac and pc havent got it yet but hopefully it will do what it says on the tin!

Anyho I can play fsx on mac quite while suprisingly however i wanna play it with all the bells and whistles and that can only be done on a pc.

So whats the best! if i am going to do it i might as well get a decent pc - is it worth buying off the peg or self build which will run FSX like a beast and then sum

Also i would want to turn my old pc into a low powered server/download box - i was thinking can i remove the psu and put a low powered one in? its 300 watt at the moment

anyho thanks for reading!

Most people will say building your own machine is better, I tend to agree.

As for your PSU in your old rig, not much point in replacing it. A computer will only draw what it needs, it wont be sitting at 300w all the time. THe only advantage would be a slightly more efficient transformations but Id say it's probably not worth.

I have just finished building a new machine for FSX with an i5 bundle and an ATI 5850. FSX works - for about a minute then crashes constantly!
