Any one recommend me a good setup? I love the look of this case, I previously had a Shuttle but it was just a bit too small for me, especially as I wanted to go back to a Crossfire/SLI setup.

Budget say £1200 without a monitor/OS/Hard Drives.

Not sure if I should wait and see what happens with AMD's new GPU's...

Thanks dude :)

I was thinking of totally omitting a DVD drive, I have a USB drive I could use for the rare instance when I need one. Also, is it worth spending a bit more on a 4770k, I know some games have started using hyper-threading a bit more. What about extending my budget to a 7990 at £499?

Fair enough a DVD drive is a bit of a waste.

I would say if you can keep witin budget and have a 4770k do it but if it means having anything less than a GTX 770, it's not worth it..

The 7990 depends on what resolution you run, if its 1080p i would go for the GTX 770, if it's 1440p or Eyefinity, the 7990 may be a better choice out of the two.

I think the 770 is better Bang for £ though. :D

And you won't be able to double up on 7990's as that would be quadfire and matx board don't support quad-fire..

So in the lng run, its either a single 7990 or (one to start with) two 770's.. I know which i'd prefer.. :D

Thanks mate:) I really wanted to get a machine ready for RTW2's release, but I cant help but think I should wait until October for AMD to release their new GPU's. Difficult one.

Tough choice..

They have had a lot of good rumours spread so either there worth waiting for or AMD are being hyperbolic again.

Maybe build a rig soon and leave the GPU til last, or get a cheap 460 of the MM, that'll see you by for a bit, then decide in october. :D

Ok...this has changed a little bit.

Up to £1800-1900 including a monitor, I was thinking something along the lines of:

YOUR BASKET
1 x Asus PB278Q 27" Professional LED Multimedia Monitor - Black £539.99
1 x MSI Geforce GTX 780 Gaming Edition 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £499.99
1 x Intel Core i7-4770K 3.50GHz (Haswell) Socket LGA1150 Processor - OEM £269.99
1 x Asus Z87 MAXIMUS VI GENE Intel Z87 (Socket 1150) DDR3 Micro ATX Motherboard £159.95

Was thinking long and hard about 780 v 7990...still not sure about all these reports I keep reading about coil whine, and the uncertainty of crossfire support with some titles. Plus the 7990 must be hot and somewhat louder than a single 780. I also at least in the future have the option of adding another 780.

Thoughts?

Nice spec Reaper but i'd personally go for a 770 or 780 over 2 670's.

I've just had a gander at the sleeping dogs benchmark thread and 2 Overclock 670's are only 5%-10% better than a single 780..

The price differnce points hugely in favour of the 2 x 670 but i'd much prefer to run a single card then SLI later.

My choice would be the GTX 770. The 780 is a good (10%-!5%) improvment on the 770 but the price is very high..

I like that BenQ monitor too reaper. :D

@Doomed: The 670's were better when they were £161 a piece, along with the 680 at £215, do fancy the likes of them at the price they're at plus the 3D monitor seemed logical with the 2 GTX cards. Stab in the dark spec really.

A 780 would be lovely with that monitor! :D

Thanks guys, still unsure about 1080p 120hz or a higher resolution. Its a tough decision!! Still thinking a 780 would be a good purchase instead of SLI, would always give me the option of buying another down the line for 780 SLI, just a shame about 780 prices which are crazy high at the moment.

I find in comparison that a 27" 1080p doesn't look as sharp as a 24" 1080p, for obvious reasons. Plus, that 120Mhz monitor looks the grand daddy for everything + 3D to dabble in if you wish too.

Just got hold of a 780 GTX reference for £425, happy days!! Now I am planning on buying the rest of the bits over the next few days. Still yet to decide about the monitor.

Is it worth waiting for the Rev 2.0 which looks a little cheaper any way??

Nice.

And Yeah, seems its out soon.. Though the price will up when it comes in stock. So do some research (it was originally sold in the US, so there should be some reviews) and get your order in quick..

Extra 22Hz. :D

I think I am going to stick with the 11T, seems like a good buy for the price, considerably cheaper and 144hz. I have always been a fan of 1440P but I sold my U2711 a year or so ago, and never got round to trying a high refresh rate screen. I think now is the time :D
