FTP problems

Hiya

I can log into my FTP no problems, however whatever I try to do I get permission denied. I can't rename files, upload or delete anything from my Tiscali business broadband account.

I have tried multiple FTP programs.

Does anybody know what may be causing this?

Has it been configured correctly? The only time I've ever had similar problems was when the FTP server permissions weren't correctly set. Might be worth changing the passive mode settings to see if that makes any difference.

Whereabouts do I access the passive mode settings?

The permissions on files/directories within your account will need altering by your host - presumably PHP is run under the nobody username which can cause this. Send them an e-mail

Permissions issue without a doubt, contact your host and get them to give you write permissions

Also check if there are any sub directories you can write to.
On PlusNet the home directory when you log in is not writable, you have to put all your stuff one level down.
