FTTC Farnborough - Date

Hi,

The date for FTTC on the Farnborough exchange keeps getting pushed back. Does anyone know any contact details for Openreach to ask about the delays and or confidence in the current date?

Lots of areas have been pushed back, it's BT after all. Take the new date with a pinch of salt and expect it to slip back a month or two.

Can't you get 100Mb/s Cable?

Some people who got their date moved back, have had it moved forward again and are being enabled as we speak.

The new March date from december was just to give some breathing room, I'd expect most of those who got their date moved dec-march to be enabled by then. Some even well before.

Wish we could Fluff, but not in a Virgin area.

The date has been pushed from March 2010 to Dec 2010 to June 2011.

Getting a bit silly now.

Especially as half of Farnborough is below 1mb, I'm personally at around 400k on the land line. We use 3G for general surfing at ~2mb and the landline for downloading.

Pain!

You should be happy you have a date! When I use the BT wholesale checker there is no mention at all about any FTTC work even though Guildford is due to be activated around June. Pretty much every address around me has dates in July that the cabinets are going to be active but no not me! grrr :mad:

And no Virgin here either.

I'm in a simular boat. My exchange was due to be 'upgraded' in March, I thought WINNER!! but now it's been pushed back to December...grrrr!!!

Mine is March, the Cab has been installed and is running etc.

Ouch, I thought my line was bad! I'm on the edge of Farnborough and get about 1.2mb. I too was disappointed by the date slippage, was very eager to get FTTC in March. Looks like 1 July now

I'm also waiting for FTTC in Guildford. Have you seen any FTTC cabs yet?

I have seen Openreach pulling fibre through the ducts.

A couple of micro FTTC cabs have been popping up in my village. Too bad the activation date is three months away!
