Can anyone assist me on understanding why I have never been on fastpath?

Here are my current stats from the HG612.

Uptime: 33 days 21 hours 16 min 57 sec
Resyncs: 0 (since 14 May 2015 10:01:46)

Downstream Upstream
Line attenuation (dB): 17.3 0.0
Signal attenuation (dB): Not monitored
Connection speed (kbps): 74000 20000
SNR margin (dB): 7.0 10.8
Power (dBm): 13.6 7.4
Interleave depth: 16 8
INP: 49.00 47.00
G.INP: Enabled

Since joining Zen nearly a year ago (At two properties, One next door to the cab) I have never been on fastpath. Always slightly interleaved but as soon as my folks join Sky fibre they go straight on fastpath and half the pings I get. I have heard that there are three settings available which are Speed, Stable and super stable. Any truth in this? Anything I can do or request?

The settings you refer to Speed, Stable etc are old ADSL controls over Interleave. Currently ISPs do not have any control over FTTC profiles; interleave depth, SNR, etc. This is still in the hands of Openreach's DLM system.

Might be worth asking your ISP for a DLM reset? If you're lucky they may get OR to complete this. On the flip-side, is your line stable? Do you experience any noise or static during land line calls?

Hi, Thanks for the reply. I had heard that all FTTC connections had three different profile types set elsewhere such as this thread

I've put a post up on Zens forum but may give them a call. Both my lines are stable. One with a years uptime, Full sync speeds and no issue. My current one had an issue due to using homeplugs for a few days then the ECI firmware issue. Since then it has been solid with barely any errors since February.

You have G.INP enabled anyway so going fastpath will make zero difference to your ping now.

Show me full stats and I will confirm it for you.

It still shows an interleave depth though, as far as I'm aware it will only be fastpath / g.inp if the interleave depth is 0.

Try updating the firmware on the hg612? it'll need 030sp08 to support it properly

I thought G.INP would only filter noise and not increase latency? I also thought G.INP would be applied to every line anyway?

The HG612 is fully updated. I have an Asus DSL-AC68U due for delivery tomorrow.

Are these the stats you require?
