FTTC provider and questions

@Jon20 absolutely nuts mate. What made you go for AAISP @ £60pm?

Really not worth literally double money! Plusnet, Sky, or even BT will give you the same service/speeds for half the price.

You only pay extra for 'service' in the VDSL world and it's really not worth it! Openreach's network is generally pretty good. Doesn't warrant an extra £30pm for AAISP's apparent better customer service or relations.

I have no doubt that is true. I’m sick of the poor customer service from Virgin and didn’t particularly want to go to another ISP that had potentially poor customer service. There’s no doubt that I’m paying extra for potentially “better” customer service. So far, AAISP have kept me well informed of the whole process. That and the 6 month contract (could have had a 1 month contract at a higher set up fee). I’m not sure if Plusnet, Sky, BT etc. offer shorter contracts? I can always migrate to another ISP after 6 months if I don’t feel they are worth the monthly cost.

Got setup on Wednesday and everything seems fine.

The rise in max latency last night at 7:15 to 10pm ish was down to Netflix usage.

One slight issue is, how do you access the WebGUI of the Vigor 130 when going through a router? If I connect the PC directly to the LAN port on the Vigor 130, I can access it through the default address. Yet going through the router, I can't.

AFAIK normally you can't (some specific setups aside) - only the router OS itself can see the modem directly - you have to plug into a port on the modem if available to get to its webGUI, etc.
