Afternoon all :)

Does anyone know of an ISP that offers multiple static IPs on a FTTC connection?

Need minimum of 2 but ideally 3.

Plusnet do on the business side, not sure on residential, but 3 static IP's being required on residential would set alarm bells ringing for most without a very good reason.
 
It's pretty rare to get this on home connections nowadays due to the shortage of IPv4 space. I thought Andrews and Arnold might offer it but I've checked their website and they don't (they will give you tons of IPv6 space if that's any use to you).

Eclipse might be worth a try, nothing definitive on their website but as they are business orientated it's possibly something they offer.
 
Depending on how serious you are about it places like Easynet give far more advanced options and features outside the normal ones - but you would be paying business prices for a fully managed connection.

Not sure if they still do it but another option would be like Eclipse used to do with their white label reseller accounts - not hugely cost effective but even just using it to provision your own services it would allow you to do things like giving yourself additional IPs, etc.

I knew it was along those lines :) but yes Zen will and are one of the best ISP,s about. I just cannot justify the additional cost over plusnet as one static ip if fine for me with lots of port forwarding :)
 
Thanks guys - I've alredy got the Zen page up but didn't see anything about multiple IPs but will investigate further. I need them for a DMZ etc to run various websites. As long as it's a reasonable price I don't mind some element of business class.

Just use Name based virtual hosts. Uses one IP but filters on hostname. Works really well on my connection with one IP.
 
As said, Zen do. It's buried deep in the website, but i'm shure you'll find it. The 7 they offer are on a residential line, so no need for a business account. They are also free, so included in your normal monthly payment for residential FTTC. Any more though and you will have to pay for them.
 
I've literally just put an order in for Zen FTTC and low and behold to my amazement they will provide you with a block of IP's if you ask for them. It is buried in their website (just google it)

Also, it looks like they will do reverse DNS too, having looked through their knowledge base.

I'm Looking forward to giving my servers their own IP's and hostnames :)
 
Oh also, just a note, from what I've read if you do request additional IP addresses from Zen, they will put your name (but not your address) on the RIPE database.
 
Just about to push the button with Zen (on your guy's advice - be warned :D).

I thought I'd run the thinkbroadband quality test for a bit on the plusnet connection:

It's better than I remember Sky being but a bit messy?
 
I'm still waiting to move to Zen but I rang them and they've setup my IP range already. 5 usable IP's for no extra cost.
 
I can "use" 6 of mine as my router is also my VPN server and can do all sorts, but only really need 3.
