FTTP upgrade... which CAT cable should I get??

Well that's me set up - running at just under 1000mbps - blazing difference in latency... I feel I need to join some online gaming sessions this evening......

So next test will be to swap the UDM SE this evening and replug everything, but pretty confident that should work....!

Even 5e is perfectly fine for home use.

I have a 1Gbit symmetrical FTTP connection all running on 5e and have no problems getting wirespeed on anything.

I have 20yr old CAT5e around the house and am on Gigabit up/down. No problems at all. Don't be fooled by those who say CAT7 etc is needed, and if the price is the same between 6 and 5e, then obviously go for 6, otherwise save some £ and stick to 5e which will satisfy 99% of home users.

I did my entire house in cat 6 about a year and a half ago and everything working perfectly, used kenable for most parts.

Still got Cat5e running all around my house. My symmetric 1Gb connection is running at full speed and my internal LAN transfers can hit 2.5Gb just fine - longest run is about 40 metres. I'd probably run Cat6 if I was cabling my house up now, but it's certainly not worth replacing my 5e in my situation.
