will they put the incoming cable upstairs ?They’ll need to drill through your wall to pass the fibre through and install an ONT on the inside then the usual router connecting to this
Most companies tend to use PIA/poles in the street and overhead cables to reach you rather than dig up your driveway/garden etc and yes they’d usually be happy to bring the cable through upstairs if that’s what you want

Where I live, the telephone cable goes from under the footpath, accessed by manhole every so often.
It then goes via a pipe to the front of the house.
The engineer literally just had to pull a cable through.
We wanted it to go in the front room near the front corner of the house and got it exactly where we wanted it.
The engineer said our install was very easy as they go, so we were pleased and so was the engineer.
I think they are pretty reasonable about where to put it as they just run the cable around your external wall then drill through where you want it.
