Hi,

My girlfriend has a 3 door 51 plate fiat punto 1.2l

On turning on the ignition fuel comes ******* out under the car.

I have had a look and noticed that where the fuel line runs under the centre of the car is where its leaking.

It seems there is 6mm (rough guess) fuel line running form the engine to the centre of the car, and then the same again running from the tank to the centre of the car.

In the centre I noticed I a much thicker rubber line that the two smaller sections push into and clamp.3

It looks abit like this

It is this section that is completly degraded, it is split and cracked all over the place.

Now i'm wondering if this section is original or whether it was a previous owners cheap fix.

Do any of you own a Fiat Punto and could check?

Thanks

just get a new line!!!!

I would think the thing/bit in the middle of the fuel line would be a one way valve.

mine has something similar on the tank -> engine line, and not on the tank return line.

I can't see anyone trying to chop and repair fuel lines.

An Exhaust company chopped & repaired the fuel line on my car,,,After they broke the fuel line trying to get my car on there ramp...:(

thats different.

that is what you get for going to quick fit. :p

I also think that your fuel line would have been dangling precariously if they managed to catch it on a ramp??
