Fuel Saving Card?

yes, but you have to spend 5000 before you get off the 0.5% rate

overall the shell citi pays better i reckon - dont forget it also offers 1% against everything else - i switched from amex

True, but 5,000 over the year isn't too taxing only ~416 a month which on a spend based on the minimum salary for the card isn't too crazy.

but you will still only be paid 0.5% for that spending, and then 1% on spending to 10k. only if you are spending very large will the ultimate 1.5% rate balance out the lower rate received initially

whereas the shell card pays at least 1% the entire time, and 3% on fuel...

True, true. I'm strongly considering getting the Citi Shell card.

Hmm, I might apply for this but I've already got 3 other credit cards!
Is the 3% cashback on fuel a timed promotion? Do you have to pay to be part of the Shell Driver's Club?

Nope its had that cashback rate for ages. Shell drivers club is just like a Tesco club card- you earn points and can have them converted to petrol vouchers, air miles, vouchers for certain stores or even better if you have the Shell Citi card- taken straight off of your card balance.

LMFAO :D

But then again, you would say that........

he's got a serious point

Ive not seen any scares of Shell selling petrol thats too rich in sillicon causing MAF sensor failures

but then i have seen Asda / Tesco doing so. THe claims cost them thousands.

Plus several people who work in the petroleum industry have confirmed the petrol supermarkets receive is selected especially for them. Its not filtered as much and doesnt have the normal additives that shell / esso / bp petrol will do. They sell it cheaply so they cut corners.

I have the Shell Citi card and a Drivers Club card, how do you go about getting the points paid straight off the credit card balance?

NS

I think I supplied my Drivers Club number when I signed up and it just kind of happened :p

I'm sure its possible to set up via the online access to either your drivers club or citi card accounts.

EDIT- just looked and it can be setup from the shell drivers club part of the shell.co.uk site :)

hmm, weird, tried to sign up for shell card online, put in my DOB (07/02/1991) and its giving me an error that im not 18, apparently. ah well.

So with the Shell Citi card, obviously you pay the full price at the pumps, but with your statement each month do you get a 3% discount?

How? Pete's did it automatically but I got sent a paper fuel voucher today even though I got my Citi credit card at exactly the same time as him...

There is a number you can call on the Drivers Club card, they're actually pretty good, just give them a call and ask them to sort it.

Do it the old fashioned way, go to a shell station, pick up a form (pick up a drivers club form too) fill it in and post it.

Very last century I know, but it worked for me ;)

Sorry I jumped the gun a bit :o

I logged into my account and under rewards it had my Citi card listed however when looking at the menu to change reward it isn't listed.

Well I just applied for the credit card, need to go and get one of those drivers club applications now :)
