I recently bought a Fuji 9500 and am finding it abit difficult on getting a good clean picture out of it, can anyone sudgest and nice settings for day and night, i also purchased myself a cable release for night pictures as ive herd it can be abit of a handfull.

Day - ISO 80-100 *please take it off Auto ISO..it's dreadful*

Night - keep below ISO 400 for good shots, tripod may be necessary.

I also tend to have the camera stuck in apature priority mode most of the time. Also - set the Exposure lock to mode 2 *so you don't need to keep the button held down* and learn to love it. ;)

yea i never have it on auto, i mainly use the "p" setting, and how do i lock it to mode 2? i havent got it that long and am finding it difficult but it is a great camera without dout.

I think it's in the menu - will have to have a look when I'm back at work. Camera's there at the moment...

I think it's an option called AE-L - needs to be set to AE-L 2 *could be very wrong though*

Found the option.

Setup menu 2 - AE-Lock Mode
Set it to AE-L2

Also - shoot in raw whenever possible.
It's slow to write to the cards - 18mb files but gives you a lot more possibilities. *you'll need soemthing like s7raw to convert them from RAF to TIFF/JPG*

If I don't need high speed I always shoot in raw. However 210 images to a 4gb card isn't that great.
