Fuji x pro 1 v fuji xA1, xe1?

I have an X-Pro 1 and would recommend that you try find a bit more money for an X-E2 or a little bit more still for an X-T1. If you cannot find the extra money then the X-Pro 1 is still a mighty fine camera.

I agree. I was just wondering how you would consider it as a potential upgrade/side-grade to the XA1 I'm using at the moment? Alternatively the choice becomes a bit more tricky when I compare the XT1 (which I would like) to the Sony A600 (which is cheaper)? Just bought a new digital tablet and Aorus Laptop to use for "portable" post processing etc, so I don't have as much money as I would have liked.

I can't say that I'm very familiar with the X-A1. However, after looking at some photos of it what struck me the most was the lack of manual controls it offers. This alone leads me to believe an X-Pro would be a viable upgrade.

As for the potential swap of systems to Sony, It all depends on your current gear I guess. If you already have some Fuji lenses then it makes sense to get a better Fuji body. But if you haven't already invested much in the Fuji system then a swap to Sony could be viable. I don't know enough about the Sony to comment whether a switch is worthwhile.

It doesn't lack any manual control? It's the same body as the X-A2 and X-M1, and offers two control dials which is actually more than the X-Pro 1 since the exposure control dial on that can't change function. If you use lenses with aperture rings with the X-A1, you've got an extra control wheel.

The only thing it's really lacking compared to the X-Pro 1 is the viewfinder, which personally I didn't like compared to a traditional OVF.

Fair enough. Like I said, I'm not familiar with the X-A1 so I was only going by some pictures that I looked at and noticed the mode dial which led me to believe that it's a pimped up point and shoot.

In that case. Assuming the picture quality, focus speed etc is up to par on the X-A1 and you can live without a viewfinder then I would focus on getting more lenses.

Tbh I'm thinking of trying to get the XT10 before Christmas and keeping the lenses I acquired from the XA1. I don't know how much I would get from selling the XA1 (body only) privately, but have seen that in some places are offering, through Fuji, £80.00 part ex. If I can get £80.00 plus the £40.00 cash back, on offer, then that would make more economic sense. I'm also wondering how well the X10 does with macro and what (non expensive) lenses people would be using for wildlife? Main areas of focus for me are landscape and portrait.

The trade in + cashback offer does make the most sense for the X-A1 considering you can get them refurbished from Fuji for £199 with the lens.

The only wildlife options for Fuji are the 50-230 and 55-200. The difference being build quality and f4.8 vs f6.7 at the long end. As for macro, I had the 60mm f2.4 for a time, and it seemed perfectly capable. Quite affordable too.

I ended up pressing the buy button on an Xt10. I'm sure it's going to be more than adequate for my needs which includes the increase in focusing, beautiful jpegs more or less straight out of the box. I liked the look of the XT1 but couldn't consider the extra 1 frame all that significant. The weather sealing was a non issue also as I read a critique from somewhere illustrating the fact there was no sealing between the lense and the actual camera. Also there would have been an issue with having to purchase weather sealed lenses.

I've yet to receive the XT10 which I'll be collecting either Friday or Monday, and don't know if anybody else on here either has one or has used one? I'm wondering if the wifi on it limits the size of the file that can be transferred to a mobile phone (like it does with the X-A1)?

edit: You have the option of transferring the original size (so just answered my own question).

I've got the X-T10, cracking little thing.
Haven't used the WiFi though as I'm on Windows Phone.
This is straight from the camera, just needs a bit more straightening:eek: . I'm more than happy with the quality.

Lovely. What settings were used for this? I'm assuming this was hand held given the amount of people walking around (but you'll correct me if I'm wrong)?

F/3.2, 1/60, ISO1000, and yep handheld. The EXIF doesn't sat what film simulation was used though. That's the nice thing with the Fuji and the EVF, you can instantly see how the film mode affects the picture.
