Fuji X Series

Diffuser for the little flash, impressed for a few quid. Even has a little notched on the side.

Do you not get a big shadow using that flash and lens combo?

My understanding is you angle the flash up/away to bounce the light, but I have little experience using them.

That flash doesn’t articulate. I have the same one but without a riser or using it off-camera, it is only useful with a limited number of lenses.

It’s great with the right lens though.

I am a bokeh whore and I am proud of it.

Amazing that this little lens basically a small version of the 105/1.4...almost but not the same...close enough!

I'm considering selling my XF56mm f/1.2 R, although I'm not sure if it's justified. Now I've moved on to the X-T5, I know the original 56mm lens doesn't resolve the 40mp sensor although I guess this is only obvious if pixel peeping?

The auto focus performance isn't that great and the updated WR model from Fujifilm still uses a DC motor, although it's slightly improved?

Therefore I'm thinking of going for the Viltrox Pro 56 f/1.2, as it has a linear motor and is apparently sharp across the frame even when fully open (unlike the original 56mm Fuji lens I have). Upgrade cost will be cheaper than going for the updated Fuji version but, I'll be losing out on the incredible build quality of the Fuji lens. There's something about the hunk of metal/feel of Fuji lenses.

I have the 56/1.2 R too, it's fine for what I use it for. How often do you use this lens though?

That photo previously with the flash with the woman on that rock is using XT5 and the 56/1.2.
