hey guys,

i've got a problem with my SCSI config. I've set my Raid to be JBOD and wanna install Win XP Pro on one of the drives.

Initially i set the boot sequence with the DVD-ROM as the first boot drive and it went on as usual. After copying and such, it restarts and i set the first boot drive to the SCSI bootable drive.

However, it just restarts without continuing with the installation..

Anyway, the specs is Dual P3 933 Mhz with a Mylex Acceleraid SCSI Raid controller.

Pls advice.

Thanks

What are the boot priority options? If you've got onboard SCSI it complicates things a bit though because any SCSI device option will boot the onboard SCSI rather than the card.

i can only choose 4 types:

- optical drive
- legacy drive (eg fdd)
- ide
- other devices (SCSI and network)

so i chose SCSI and it managed to boot from its onboard scsi controller.

What board are you using?

I'm wondering if there's a way of disabling the ability to boot the onboard SCSI while keeping the controller enabled or so you need the onboard SCSI at all? If you disable it the SCSI boot option might revert to the card.

i think its a proprietary board by Fujitsu. i think its made by Asus..

its a System Board D1241 from what i know from Fujitsu's website..
