Just had a quote from a company to get a full vinyl wrap of my car (Honda Civic Type-R) in the style of the St. George's Cross. Basically the entire car would be wrapped in white, with a red stripe going up the bonnet, over the roof and down the boot/bumper, and corresponding red stripe up the doors/rear quarter panel.

For anyone who doesn't know about vinyl wraps - it's basically the same principal as regular vinyl decals you can get (Fast & Furious style crap), except in this case it acts as an alternative to a respray. Lasts 3-5 years and can be removed easily to take car back to original colour come sale time.

Anyway, quote I had back was £755+VAT for the job. Seems like a low amount of money to spend for a job that would turn my car white (its black, and they dont even make white ones over here) and support England during the WC. :)

Any thoughts? Do you think it might look lame?

Jesus. And people say I have bad taste with my 'Fast and Furious crap'............
The difference is though, you didn't listen to anyones advice and went ahead and did it anyway. ;)

I'm not going to bother with this - thanks for the attitude readjustment. :)

That's because I never asked for advice, I merely posted a photchop of what I was intending to do, and did it because I like it ;)
Being pedantic though, how is that ANY different about what I've just done here? The only difference is that I was actually looking for advice on whether it would look crap or not - since I do actually care about not looking like a F&F muppet on the road ;) (although an England flag would hardly qualify, maybe if it had a dragon in one of the corners or some random kanjii).

I personally reckon canvassing opinion on stuff like this is better than just going ahead and doing it. Plenty of people (chavs usually) stick all kinds of tat on their car because they like it. Shame 99% of the rest of the population thinks it looks rubbish, or ruins an otherwise lovely looking car. Like in my example, and others.....

As a rule of thumb I do think vinyls are crap - and it wasn't like I was ever intending this to be a permanent fixture on the car, just thought it would be an alternative way of showing support for Englands WC efforts. :) I'll just do it the traditional way in a pub. :)

Mine too :)

I was hoping I would get the benefit of the doubt on this given my R34 was completely tat-free (I think? :)). I'm still thinking about the all-white version though, for that JDM look - assuming it does look decent.

Where did you get the quote from? I'm actually really interested in getting this done on my Grand Cherokee to protect the paintwork while I'm greenlaning.

Oh and bTW, don't you find it really sad that anyone in this country now wanting to be a bit patriotic and fly the flay is imediatly branded a racist/idiot/bigot/whatever. No wonder we have no pride in this country when we can't even fly our own flag.
Sorry for delay in replying.

I got my quote from www.totally-dynamic.co.uk
