Full Format or Quick Format?

Just took delivery of a Samsung EcoGreen F2 1.5TB Hard Drive SATAII 32MB..

Do I need to do a Full format or will Quick format be sufficient? Is there any benefit in full formatting a new drive?

Any recommendations on this?

I think the general consensus is if it's an OS or valuable data drive, do a full format.

One other thing, whats the advantage of formatting it at different sizes?

From what I gather, a full format wipes all data, whereas a quick format just flags everything as deleted. Unless you have data on there that you want gone, then a quick format should be sufficient.

A full format just does chkdsk in addition so do quick. If you want to check the drive use a proper tool as chkdsk isn't so great.
