don't get that one, the board and memory arn't compatable :p

The new system by AcidHell2 looks good though although I cant personally comment on the case.

If I did go for that spec I probably would go for a cheaper case and fans because silence isn't a priority for me.

I'm also now starting to think that if I went for something like an E8400 and the Hyundai PVA monitor then I could spend the money I save on getting a 4870 X2 but I can't decide whether I would need that kind of graphics card. Decisions!

I'd personally go for the Antec 300 and get a modular PSU. I'd also question getting PC-8500 RAM but I'm not entirely sure how it all works. Perhaps someone can comment on that.

MX518 is better than any of the Razer mice.

I don't really care about the mouse, I had the MX518 (was it called the MX510 or something back then?) with my last computer and I loved it like a son.

I think you started with a great spec, and the further suggestions really are nothing more than tweaks to suit your needs better. You won't got far wrong with any of the components that you've chosen :)

My advice would be to get an x38 mobo and a 4870 gfx card. That way, you have room for expansion by installing a second 4870 when the price comes down and you need a bit more performance. Otherwise, take your pic of the specs above as they're all very good :)

I went over cos i forgot about windows. yay for my msdn subscription!

I would just go with whatever you want though. That's half the fun.

for the same price motherboard Asus P5E Intel X38 u will have pci- express 2.0 slots not 1.1 ;) better for graphics card specially the new ones and future ones and dont get wireless keyboard and mouse dont be crazy and instead 280 i would grab 4870 later on u can add another one as x38 supports crossfire

To be honest, put the money that you intend on buying a network adaptor towards buying a better motherboard which comes with WiFi built in. Asus P5K Premium WiFi for around £110? or Asus P5Q3 Deluxe @ Wifi-N for £150 (a more expensive option)
