hey guys, so I'm currently running

• i7 980x
• corsair h80i
  
• 20 gig ddr3
• 256gb 850 pro
• 2x 1tb
• corsair 1000w PSU
  
• 1080ti

..system (apart from gfx) is old as balls, so i've been pondering an upgrade, i should point out i'm a fairly heavy system user, from games to vms and lots of things open at once...

Looking at the following as the potential fresh build since the current one will be getting donated to family(minus the 1080ti), but as i've not really kept up with pc hardware looking for some advice?

I'm already on a hex core, didn't see the point in upgrading to the same core'd cpu, also I have a 500gb m.2 drive specc'd in there, is it not enough I wonder?

Ohhh I think you might be confused, I noted my current rig first as a reference point, the one im looking at building is underneath..

running the 980x now, looking to upgrade to the 7920x potentially
