Fuming right now ...

There's a fair chance you will get somewhere by talking to the manager now you're not a drunken raving mess, the first thing I do at work when some drunk starts ranting at me is switch off and let them know that they can come back and discuss it when their sober. There's no reasoning with drunk people.

buy a new one and send them the bill ?

or just burn the entire place down to the ground with mustard........... from orbit of course

That sucks bad. I normally only wear a coat to a club when I absolutely have to. i.e. it's disgustingly freezing. I hate giving my coat and paying a quid etc, for this exact reason! It's a shambles.

Similarly, I remember when I went out on a monday (student night), and was queuing to get in. I reached the till and she asked for £5 entry. I hand a £20 note over, she gives me back £5. I start to walk off, then rush back realising shes short changed me by a tenner, tell her this and she gets all ****y moaning that I'm lying! I went mental and I think she saw that in my eyes and quickly gave me a tenner. Just makes me wonder how many drunk people she does that too, pocketing the profit for herself. Bitch

Just spoke to the manager and he says he's looking into it as we speak will call me within the hour.

I don't see how looking at CCTV will help things though ... What they going to do to the person who they gave it to?!

I'd be interested to know if the person who has it was,:
a) given a similar jacket to his own and didn't know
b) thought "this is better than mine, i'll have it" and had it away on his toes with a bargain.

Spoke to my mum who knows this stuff she said I do have a case and they should pay me since I've entered a contract by paying for that service.

You'll find that you're paying because your coat occupies a slot in the limited storage available.

Next time, leave your coat on your chair or don't wear one :p

Don't charge me for a service then surely, if it was free then yes it's my own doing, but not when I've paid for them to look after it ...

This.

Happens so much it's unreal. Give your cash for drinks and get short changed. I just go mental from the start, always gets my cash back.

Shameless ********.

He will give me £50 for it so I'm losing out on a tenner, he said they wouldn't normally do it but he knows I'm a regular and doesn't want bad feelings, I guess it will do. I need to go buy it again as they need a proof of purchase for there tills before they can re emburse me the money.

A friend of mine used to work in a cloak room and he said you wouldn't believe how many people would try to say that the staff or someone else had stolen things out of their pockets etc. But even if they had a sign they had to check CCTV and solve the matter in some way. Don't know if that was law or just the company policy though.
