Fuming!

Just got off the phone, there is nothing they can do obviously.

Vaughan says O2 agreed to remove four of the missed payments from his file, but told him it couldn't remove the final one

...

The good news for Vaughan is that O2 has now told him it is removing all the marks from his file, and it looks as if his mortgage application (he is now taking out a Barclays deal) will be approved within days.

They can always do something.

/edit - Note to self: always read the full thread :)

Good news, they're clearing all the late payment markers and apologized!

Good news.

This isn't true. The credit ref agencies only report on what the providers give them - they will not adjust the reports in the slightest, you have to deal with the initial company.
Sadly they wont do this. The removal can only be initiated either by the creditor or a court order. They can let you place a note against the marker that other creditors can see, but remember most places have automated rules engines that ignore notes.

Here is a screenshot from my Equifax account ticket log:

*shrug*

Think yourself lucky they didn't just send a debt collecting agency after you, that's what they did to me after they made a mistake, they somehow thought I owed them £350 when in fact I owed them nothing.

Took a few phone calls to sort it out, not sure if I have any kind of black mark against me, I hope not.

I think they would have after another month as the maxiumim markers I had on the credit file was 5 late payments.

Heres the weird thing, it was a Sunday around 4pm, I'm in the middle of a wonderful nap when my phone goes off.

Guys calls me saying he's from o2 etc etc. I'm like, lolcat, how can I help. He explains how he's in the office catching up on work, he's just seen my email and started apologizing. He said he will get rid of all the late payment markers and your credit will go back up.

Anyway, good thing I didn't just forget it after that first **** said there is nothing we can do.
