Funny Email (WoW Reltated)

The grammar and punctuation in that e-mail was awful. It looks like it came from the same people/country who sell all that WoW gold, which suggests they have less than zero legal leverage.
 
Smells like they are trying to scare you into giving them your detail, but if you sold them your account I do not really understand ? :o

That might be worth doing. I played that shaman so long I feel it is "me" and would feel bad that I could never see it/play it again. Even though my mind is 100% made up I'm not re-activating the account or buying WOTLK.

The gold I'd be happy to sell but need to pay £8 to reactivate first. Depends how much I could get.

Yeah, as I said mate I'm not so sure how much I can get for the character and would feel bad selling him on, especially for ~£50. The gold I'd be happy to sell off depending on how much I can get for it.

Thanks for the offer and if I reconsider I will let you know first! Just at the moment the sentimental value is stopping me from going through with anything long-term.

(Really strange as I said, don't have ANY incling to go back or reactivate at all. I suppose as I spent so much time it's just hard to let go?) :)


Also, to Adsta: Wouldn't it be better for your bro to start from scratch with a char so he can learn the mechanics of his class and actually have a clue rather than being an "E-Bayer"? :D (Fair play if he knows the game, just needs a char to work on)

He's played the game from time to time just gets bored lvling on his own. I would lvl with him but i really dont want to play 0-80 again :p

Where if he plays from 70-80 il happily lvl my dr00d with him.

Didn't they ask for the password reset information when they bought the account? Their lookout if they didn't to be honest.
 
tbh I doubt they couldn't take any legal action against you anyway. Since you dont really own the account anyways. Blizzard own the account you just have rights to use it.

If they wanted their money back and you paid via paypal and they want you to pay back via paypal. Surely they could have just opened a paypal dispute ?

Its just scare tactics imo. Tell them to go **** themselves.

That quote alone is enough to tell them to F off. I'd ask what additional information they posess and how they got hold of it. I'm pretty sure any e-shop are not allowed to store personal information within their system.

Begs the question how did iovation get addition information ? and if they have how did they get it and what information do they have.

The whole e-mail is just well odd. Not sure what they hope to achive. Money I guess and a free WoW account.

Curious as to what the point of the e-mail is, selling an account is against EULA anyways? so theres no legal ground for a start. I assume an e-mail like that would scare some people into playing ball though. But wow at account prices these days! I sold my pre-TBC Naxx/AQ40 decked char for £800. :)
 
Like I said I could have probably got more for it (as I am assuming they sold it for the $600 tag they had on it) but just couldn't be bothered.

It's an interesting thought - you don't own the account (Blizzard do) and yet you sold it to a 3rd party - I would be intrigued to see how that held up if tested under law. Could well have grounds for a fraud case (I wonder if the other guys could be done for handling stolen goods? :D)

If pressed, paypal probably would reclaim the cash as you had no right to sell the account... If you sold something else, and gave them the 'keys' to your account for free however... Blizzard would have nothing ;)
 
gotta be a fake tbh they are just to blunt with comments and i would just reply back saying ok ill contact blizzard to close the account and seak legle advice in the uk and that you will see them in court

Hi there,

Please provide more information about what this concerns as I fufilled my end of the bargin and the account went on sale through your website, I consider this matter closed and I will not be threatened with court cases, if anything has happened to my account since your purchase of it this is in your scope of the deal as I have with held my end.

Please pass more evidence on why you think I have retained ownership as the reason I sold my account to you was that I could end my WoW game career once and for all.
