I need a upgrade from a 7990 (need isnt quite the right word) i was going to go to a 295x2 but then i start reading more and more about the Fury x and want it. Im not a amd fanboy so i dont care for sides. i have loved my 7990 hence wanting the 295x2 but would i be happier with a Fury x? and i know the love for the 980ti. Hate gpu's there is never a right answer just lots of questions!

Currently 1080p with a second 1080p screen usually just monitoring stuff. Always looking for what to move to next but for the moment its 1080. 980 is better for 1080 im led to believe but originally my budget was (and still should be £400 i do regret not buying the 295x2 in clearance last week) £500 would be silly money for me to spend and above that is a no no.

I would have thought FuryX would be a better buy because of all the CrossFire driver shenanigans.

I personally wouldn't be buying at the current rip-off pricing, but at £510 you pretty much pays your money and takes your choice FuryX vs. 980Ti.

Kaku been thinking now is a bad time to buy, cant be a good idea in early stages of a release. Still dont like the 4gb of ram on the fury but more i read the less it bothers me. ill wait just wait a few months at least(ill try).

I have been doing loads of benchmarks for the Fury X and Titan X and most of them at 1080P. The FX is a very nice card but it is asking for a bigger resolution before it starts to shine. At 1080P, I would personally go for a 980 but if you have plans to go for a bigger resolution, then a Fury X is a good shout or even a 980Ti for the same money.

That's the correct plan, if i see a cheap 295x2 ill be tempted though. Who knows if some will come up silly cheap like my 7990 did from here.

The problem with any multi gpu solution though is poor driver support, former sli user here. When it works its great. But quite often your at the mercy of drivers and waiting on support for games.

I fail to see why anyone would got for this considering it even has a waterloop. If the performance was much higher then yes, but a waterloop to get 980ti performance or even TX performance? I wouldn't bother. Also more moving parts to go wrong and possible reliability issues - I really wouldn't want any addition risk from water unless the performance was really worth it.
Just my opinion though :)

With new drivers i would't ask "what resolution" as you can use DSR and game at 1440 or 2160p on the 1080 display...i do it usually but thats just my opinion.

YOLO buy what ever takes your fancy.

How's life in 2012? :o

YOLO - When males who have been incarcerated for a long time, decide they need to get gratification, even if it is with the same "side"

I doubt youngsters today using YOLO actually know they are letting others know they are "up for some action" ...even if they aren't in jail
