Fury x is growing on me and i want one

I fail to see why anyone would got for this considering it even has a waterloop. If the performance was much higher then yes, but a waterloop to get 980ti performance or even TX performance? I wouldn't bother. Also more moving parts to go wrong and possible reliability issues - I really wouldn't want any addition risk from water unless the performance was really worth it.
Just my opinion though :)

I have had a variety of custom loops and many different AIO and have yet to have one just 'go wrong'. given the track record of some of these coolers in the last few releases, aftermarket air coolers come with their own set of problems.

I would look at this liquid cooler as a plus rather than a minus. Temps under control and heat is directed out of the case.

Also these coolers dont use water ;)

Currently 1080p with a second 1080p screen usually just monitoring stuff. Always looking for what to move to next but for the moment its 1080. 980 is better for 1080 im led to believe but originally my budget was (and still should be £400 i do regret not buying the 295x2 in clearance last week) £500 would be silly money for me to spend and above that is a no no.

If you do go for an upgrade, better get a new monitor as well otherwise it will just be a big waste.
7990 can still handle most games at very high / max at 1080p
I am on the same boat and changing GPU + 1440P G/Freesync monitor will easily reach the £1000 mark.
