Fury X odd repeating sound - cooler on the way out?

Hi,

Over the last few days, my Fury X has been making odd sounds. The only thing I've found online about them making odd noises is the cooler whine in early models, which seems to be very different to this.

Every 20-30 seconds (I've not actually timed it), it sounds like the fan or the coolant pump is speeding up, then returning to idle / low speed. There is also a gurgling sound, which I think is the coolant being pumped around.

I can't say if the gurgling is a long standing / normal thing, since I only noticed it in conjunction with the fan whirring up.

I thought / hoped it was just the bearings in one of my normal fans wearing out and causing lop-sided or uneven rotation, but it's definitely coming from the graphics card.

Has anyone else come across something similar? Does the card need replacing?

If you constantly hear the gurgling sound then I would check to make sure it isn't leaking. The card should be fine, you will just need a new cooler.

I was sick of my Fury x ramping up/down and so i removed the fan and used one of my system fans. Also reduced the pump speed using a fan controller and now its ultra quiet. Trade off was a few degrees higher - worth it.
