fury x or wait for the fury x2?

But what about when they say that 2 graphics card doesnt mean your gonna get 100% extra performance but rather 75% extra performance.is this still gonna be the case with crossfire?

Yeah its always around 75%. Sometimes can be 85% in some games and i saw a review recently where in xfire amd had actually amnaged to get 100% extra performance!

Thats when they do a profile that is. Elite still doesnt have one so you are running on a single card then

Wait IMO for the 8GB Fury X. (if they come out)

You are going to be running very high settings @ 4K so 4GB *might* not be enough.

I mentioned *might* so some AMD Fanboy doesn't bite my head off.

Here we go again with 4gb might not be enough... :D just joking. This pretty much what africanos23 said. It's worth waiting really and it's exactly what i'm doing.

the X2 Dual card should be smaller than the previous 295x2, it will also have less tubing than Xfire FuryX.........and generally take up far less room in a mini pc.

it will of course be very powerful, but also very expensive....about £1200
but due to RAM limitations it might be best to wait for next years DualX2, that is if there is one !

my guess is there is, because i expect Nvidia will fight back some time next spring.....meaning AMD will have to respond again, next year is going to be massively exciting............easily the most exciting year so far..............man i cant wait to see next years flat OLEDs, just in time for DOOM 4 :D

Micro stutter is present with both Crossfire and SLI. Something to consider if you are sensitive to it (I stopped running dual cards because of the stutter).

Regarding overall dual card experience, I always found Nvidia SLI better. Next week we should get single card and dual reviews. See how they stack up against Nvidia's 980 Ti and 980 Ti SLI.

Should disappear when we get games using alternative multi gpu modes in directx 12. The Tiled SFR in civ beyond earth is amazing, even if it is just an rts. might not give you high max fps like with AFR, but why do you want a max you rarely hit when your lows, averages and latency's are better. which is where is matters.

and on and on it goes with each years cards getting better and better :P

Anyway where have you got £1200 from? Ive seen it stated it will have a MRSP of $999 so should be about £750 inc VAT.

^ If the Fury X lands in at £550 on these shores, which is what I've seen predicted and would expect myself, the X2 dual card will be £1K at least.

u are assuming the dual x2 card is two fury x cards. It could be two fury pro cores instead.

But sure its been listed since launch day.

Furyx is $649 and Fury x2 is $999

And also £550 is not the proper price for the fury x. Coverting the MRSP and adding VAT its only £499. Anything about that is just extra profit for somebody in the supply chain.

Even work on $649 = £550 then $999 = £846

^ Fair enough, and good maths :-)

But it's usually MRSP + VAT + GUKROA (general uk rip off addition) + retailer gouging, so I'd be surprised if they came in at those prices. Pleasantly surprised I guess.

the 295x2 was about £1200 on its launch, it then dropped to £1000 and stayed there for ages before dropping massively recently.

so your £750 is quite low, lets hope you're right.............. because that's almost low enough to buy two of them :eek:

Its already been stated by gibbo that initial stock will probably be closer to £650 due to availability. Pre-orders for more normal priced stock are available on the same day, but probably a couple of weeks wait :(

looks like im gonna have to wait unless i change my motherboard as its only got one x16 pcie lane or two x8 lanes.

since its hbm i think it will matter otherwise i wouldnt bother for gddr5
