Is there any lists/sites available.

That on inputting age/ncb without all details like name address etc, or a rough guide to insurance premiums on cars?

looking at 2.0 turbo as my next car skyline or such.

20 1NCB

Why dont you pick a new car based on something thats not as utterly random as 'a 2.0 turbo'?

2.0 Turbos cost between £200 and £50,000 and develop between 90bhp and 400bhp as standard.

What you are asking for does not exist - the details are important. Just something like address can give two otherwise identical people wildly different quotes.

Thanks for the reply fox, obviously i would never be able to insure 400bhp, and 90 would be far to little, so ill do some more research and get back to you, i wasnt sure if there were any "fairly nippy" 2.0T which had lower price brackets than other 2.0T.

I'll narrow it down a bit, it will be green and have alloy wheels.

Why 2.0T? Are you suggesting that a 1.8T isn't enough and a 2.5T is too much?

What about a 1.8T that offers more power than a 2.0T? Are they ok? Would you discount a 2.5 without a turbo that offers more powerful than a 2.0T?

It just seems like a really odd criteria. 'Want new car, must be a 2 litre with a turbo'.

As you can guess, im a novice with cars, but im looking for something quick and 2.0 T seemed a good step up from my current 1.6 Petrol, I dont know of any 1.8T cars, if you want to enlighten me on any decent ones id be greatful.

Virtually every single car in the Volkswagen, Audi and Seat range for example is available with a 1.8 Turbo.

But you need to stop caring so much about engine capacity becuase it has little bearing on a cars performance. They do 1.8 Lotus Elises without a Turbo and they are very fast. They do 2.0 Turbo Citroen C5 Estates and they are very very slow.

You just need to look at cars offering a certain level of performance, instead.

Engine size is often far, far less relevant than people think. It's odd though how most 'non car' people equate it with everything, the most common question people ask me when talking cars IRL is 'What litre is that then?'

In terms of performance im looking for acceleration rather than top speed, good reliability, and insurance less than hopefully 1.2k a year TFPT. 4 Seats. Similiar performance to a 200 SX.

MG ZT 160 has a 1.8T, though whether you consider this to be a "decent" car is another matter entirely ;)

How much are you looking to spend and what do you drive now?

Getting anything nippy at your age and experience will probably mean your insurance will be more than £1200.

Hummmm.
This thread reminds me of the old Norwich Union advert.
The one where the woman phones up for a quote:

Woman: Hatchback
Woman: Blue

*Woman starts dancing around as she has been "quoted happy"*
How the hell she was "quoted happy" with only those two pieces of information I'll never know.

its more about the car type these days more than the insurance group

I had a xr2i IG14 and just went to a rover 220 coupe turbo which is a IG17 and only cost me an extra £10 per month to insure,

From what i've been told the xr2i had lack of security and known as i boy racer car, the rover had far superior security.

From what ive heard they are insurance group 15, avearage cost to insure at around 21? with 1ncb.

I insured mine at 21 with 0ncb for £1500 (this was 4 years ago though!)

At 22 with 1ncb is was £900. But as said that can vary massively depending on other circumstances. Best bet is to get a few quotes from companies such as Chris Knott, Greenlight, Adrian Flux, Bell, Admiral etc and see for yourself. Those are the companies I've personally found best.

How much you looking to spend on the car itself?
