Hi everyone, I just wanted to know whether an i7 13th gen, RTX 4070 and 32GB RAM is relatively future proof? That’s about my max budget can afford at the moment to upgrade from an i7 7th gen, GTX 1080 and 16GB ram.

I don’t do too much gaming, maybe The Sims 4, Dreamlight Valley and Sea of Thieves. Not a huge AAA+ player, but Hogwarts Legacy looks pretty sweet.

Cheers.

If you want future proof(ish) then AMD's AM5 platform is the logical choice as it's still going to be supported until 2025 or 2026 meaning the motherboard you buy now should be able to take one of the new cpu's that will be launched then.

If you still want to stick with Intel's platform which is at the end of it's life then at lease go for a 14th gen i7 as they have extra "e"cores and a speedbump over the 13th gen i7.
