Futureproof?

I think a lot of people mean 'I'm buying a massively overpowered, overpriced system for my current needs and hoping it'll last 10 years' when they mention 'future proofing'.

Nothing is "futureproof" as something will always come out the day after you buy your system! You just have to think what you want from your pc, core2 still does everything you need after several years, my i7 was built in feb last year and still tears through anything.

I only want to upgrade for the sake of it no practical need to do so but what paying that extra means is I can upgrade for that little bit longer!
