Hi

Booted up Pc this morning and all started OK until the screen went fuzzy (similar to TV with no aerial in). My first thought want a knackered graphics card so went to a local shop to buy the cheapest card I could to test. The new graphics card also produces a fuzzy screen.

Is the monitor therefore shot or even maybe the motherboard?

Currently I'm going through the DVI-D connection. I could also try the VGA, S-Video, Composite or component. Worth trying these?

Thanks for any help.

hi

getting hold of a spare monitor is a problem although my TV has a computer input on it , I just have to go and get hold of a VGA lead which I'll try and do today.

PLaystation worked on my monitor although that was using composite.

I think this my be a motherboard problem!!!!

Cheers

try a VGA (d-sub) cable, might well be a bad cable or bad termination of cable on the DVI lead.

And as always, screw the cable in, dont just push it in the socket, as they have a tendancy to work themselves loose over time, not all of them are a great fit.
