The AMD equivalent to a FX55 is a AMD FX55?

yeah you mean intel equivilent dont you?
or do you mean the none FX chip like athlon os sempron.. or opteron, because there is no equivilent for either.. the FX 55 is pretty unique... i dont think any single core intell chip can match it  but i'm the wrong person to ask cause i'm an AMD fanboy

yup i am a AMD fanboy to i got £330 to get new ram and CPU n i hav found a FX 55 4 £270 so im torn between both

I am mainly a Gamer so will the performance be better on a FX ?

torn between what <_<? an AMD FX 55 and what o__o!!? you're not amiking sence man!

but yes... you'll get awsome performance from a 55, but you'd be best to wait a few months if you can as AMD will soon release socket MQ2 or whatever it is and thet'll bring prices of all AMD processors down (including the FX 55), also people will start selling there stock cheep before that too.

but you dont have to get an FX 55, you could always buy a cheeper Athlon 64 and overclock it, but if you're not a confident overclocker and you can aford it get the 55, you'll love it :D

I think he meant like the FX53 is now the AMD4000+, does the FX55 have an equivalent, or is it still the FX55. In answer to the question, the FX 55 has not been replaced by a single core athlon equivalent and is not likely to be. I don't see many new single cores being produced tbh.

The 3500 is both slower and has a worse core than the FX55.

Plus the FX55 has an unlocked multiplier so you can overclock it easier in the future as games go up another notch.

The only equivalent to the FX55 is the FX60 which is basically a dual-core FX55 but stupidly expensive.

what is the next one they're bringing out? the FX 72 i'm guessing and that'll be like 2 FX 57s?
