Yo.
I purchased a 4GB set of G.Skill PC2-8000, however, it refuses to go beyond 400mhz FSB (IE DDR2800 speeds).
I have tried:
-Lowering the multiplier of the processor to 7. No boot.
-Increasing the DRAM voltage to 2.1. No boot.
-Setting "DRAM frequency" to that of "DDR2 1000". No boot.
It sadly only boots at 400mhz. My old Corsair 6400 (800mhz) stuff also refused to go beyond 400 (although I just assumed that those particular sticks didn't want to overclock). This leads me to believe that this is a chipset issue correct? I thought the P5E X38s were great clockers? (basically a Formula Maximus in a different box?)
QX9650 (currently at 400mhz x 10 multi)
Asus P5E X38
G.Skill 4GB DDR2-1000
Geforce 8800GTX
Reserator XT
Tagan 750 watt PSU
