Hi all
I received my G-Skill 128gb SSD today ...installed it into sata socket 0 just incase need to flash firmware .
Booted to windows vista ...it found the drive so formatted it .
Rebooted system setting the SSD as primary hard drive to boot from ....and inserted windows vista disk into cd drive and booted from it .
Well it goes through the loading windows files ...then windows is starting ....then the blue screen comes up and mouse pointer appears , keyboard comes on....but thats it ..does nothing ....you can move mouse pointer around but wont come up with the install options etc .

Tried just running the drive with everything else unplugged sept cd drive ( got 5 other hard drives ) and still wont go any further ....tried windows 7 ..thats the same .

Only way i have got it to work is to leave the original hd drive ( vista) as the main boot disc ...then goes through to install options ....and the g-skill is listed ...so installed windows 7 onto it . Now dual booting .

Why won't it install to the ssd on its own ?

Any help most appreciated
Karl

P.S want to make the ssd the boot disk instead of my other hdd

all sorted now , accidentally cleared bios setting ...so they were all over the place .
just updated the settings and works first time booting from ssd :)
