Any thoughts on this memory?

I cant find it in the UK so will need to import from the US which is OK but a hassle should an RMA be needed.

Any alternatives I should look at for a 3900/3950 build. 32GB is my preference with good timings.

It's strange that you can't get the stuff with tighter timings over here. I was looking at this exact memory myself as I was considering going to 32GB for Flight Simulator and CP2077.

You can buy it from Germany which will save you import duties etc and make it easier to RMA if you have a problem, sorry I cant link, its against the rules, just google the part number, im sure you'll find it.

Personally ive no interest in running anymore than 32gb of ram, so I would go for the 4 x 8gb 3600mhz C16 kit, they are single sided modules, the 32gb 3600mhz C16 (2x16gb) kit is the same Samsung B Die chips, only they are double sided modules, they are just as hard on the memory controller as 4 single sided sticks.

Been looking in Europe for it, only German site I found got terrible reviews on trust pilot :(

Found it in the US for $180, and one place in the UK for £350, really frustrating!

Ive brought ram from that site before, ive never had a problem with them, if I remember right they use DHL to ship, it may be $180 from the US, but then they are going to charge you import duties which will bump the price up before they will deliver it to you, whoever the shipper might be.

LOL EDIT: Ive just read some bad reviews and out of the 3 or 4 bad ones I chose, it seems people in the UK are complaining that they list there site as a co.uk site but are based in Germany, I always check company info and address before buying from anywhere, especially ebay where so many sellers list as being in London, you check there address and its China, they are buying things like Dyson vacuum cleaners, and coffee machines and ****** that it has an European plug on it.

US in this case (and most) is out for that very reason.

I may take a punt on the German site...

Was on my phone so didn't read too much into it, that's for tonight once the kids are in bed :)

More the reviews which say paid in full and not received in 6 weeks, and one on g skill ram which was 'used'. But with any retailer you don't know there is always a risk, credit card to the rescue :D

Whilst I can't obviously make any guarantees I've never had a problem with using 2 kits together in the last 5yrs or so and I've also used various of the 8Pack versions on multiple Ryzen and Threadripper systems, again no problem, so take that with a pinch of salt OP, but it's something to consider?

no, i meant this: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/team...3600mhz-quad-channel-kit-black-my-095-tg.html

for the avoidance of hassle i'd buy the 4-dimm kit, it's guaranteed to work as a set of 4. you can check the timing specs, supposedly the OcUK listed timings are wrong, it's really 16-16-16-36 (like the 2-dimm).

Thanks for the info both!

The quad kit product page is inconsistent as it mentions 16-18-18-38 and more generically 16-16-16-36 in ref to Samsung B Dies.

I need to look into height clearance with my intended water loop, using a distribution plate in a 011 dynamic XL I should be able to use only a single bend from CPU to distro plate with the 2 x kits vs the 1 kit. Something else to mull over :D Actually scratch that, I could just use a couple of extenders from the CPU block if I need the additional height clearance.

I believe the top part of the heat spreader that makes that kit massive can be removed, maybe someone else can confirm that......but im sure they would allow it as that would put a lot of people off buying it if it cant be removed, I had a kit of the Dark Pro 3200mhz quite some time ago, and the tiny heat spreader on that could be removed for clearance.

Thanks all - glad I read this first. Had decided on the same 2x16gb kit as need the 64gb as pc is gamer and DevOps (VMs) so 64gb real need.

Wonder if ocUK could source the 2x16gb - F4-3600C16D-32GTZN?

The G.Skill Trident Z Neo F4-3600C16D-32GTZN is available in the German Rainforest. I got mine there, 2 x 16GB for €275 and shipping was roughly €12.

It's a third party seller rather than the Rainforest themselves but I had no issues at all.

Is that a little pricey? I ordered the 2x16 3800 CL14 for £350.

Maybe there’s not much in it.

I ordered this very product from the aforementioned German site last weekend and it arrived yesterday via UPS, so no issues with delivery or customs. Haven't tested it yet though as still waiting for other parts of my build to arrive.
