G-Star / Hollister / Superdry

I was in there today and wasn't very impressed I'm afraid :p

Not sure who's behind this recent tide of whispy see through cardigans in loads of stores either :o

Really? The design of their stores are usually really cool.

All Saints are a mixed bag. Their Jeans are terrible imo and they do some terribly thin stuff that you feel you are getting robbed on. However their knitwear, t-shirts, boots, belts and jackets are very fashionable.

Check out some of these.

Yeah All Saints is awesome. 85% of my wadrobe consists of All saints.

I don't like the shirt as it's definately not me, the boots are nice, granted, but the t-shirt isn't too disimilar from what you might find on a random primark tee IMO.

For t-shirts, I'm a sucker for LRG - I find they have the most refreshing designs.

One word: Burberry.

A premium brand that can filter down to a high street chav.

As you say, Mckenzie/Cabrini aren't cheap but sometimes they can. Just walk into any JD Sports (Again, i point out i am massively stereotyping!) and see what sort of things they are selling. It is quite easy to get 'budget' clothing from expensive brands. I could happily buy a £10 FCUK t-shirt and it would look like a £10 t-shirt - the style, the fit and how 'aged' it looks.

So to answer your question, 'bargain basement' versions of sports brands or certain styles of high street brands, in my opinion. :p

Burberry is still a premium brand, there's no doubt about that. There well known checkered pattern has gone down the pan though, They still do excellent clothes and at 800 quid for a trench coat it's certainly no chav-wear, nor high street. It's just that checkered design being taken over by chavs did cause them a lot of damage.

OP: Superdy and G-Star aren't 'in'. They have come and gone and now filtered down to chav-wear - though G-Star was always chav.

Hollister and A&F is preppy, excellent quality hoodies.

I know! :p

I am agreeing with you.

G-star i agree, but superdry just simply isn't chav.

G-Star is horrible, as are MackEnzie, Boxfresh, GIO GOI and Henley.
Superdry are ok, to say they are cheap and nasty is incorrect and frankly, snobbish.

My faves are Original Penguin and J Lindeberg, i play golf and own one of each as they are quite pricey. :)

Not at all.. Just really like the G-Star range and wondered if there was any other brands like G-Star? I bought something from them today and despite the price, I am really liking the quality of their stuff and it has made me realise that paying slightly more for clothes is worth it. :p

They are the new 'Kappa' :p

You Kappaslappa :D

was in tk-maxx today and ended up buying a cross-hatch dark series hoodie for £16.99 :o
i had 5 options
1: white seven7series hodie £17.99
2: creamy cross-hatch dark series hoddie £16.99
3: brown/baby blue dunns footwear hoodie? £19.99(was £70?)
4: really light/neon green henleys project hoodie (16.99)
5: purple cross-hatch daark series hoodie £17.99

was in the changing room for 15 mins...henley's project didnt suit me..my top was the seven7 series and cross-hatch..ended up buying th e cross-hatch :D

I don't usually wear hoodies but my Superdry one is so good, very soft and warm.

My "going out" t-shirts are mostly Diesel/Duck & Cover/Ben Sherman/Ted Baker mostly because i like the designs. Not crazy expensive but I have never seen anyone in the same tee as me so that'll do. I've also found that a £20+ tee often has a better cut than a generic one. Lots of people have also commented that i look thinner in some of my tees than in others.
