G-Sync got worse??

Windowed borderless with G-Sync enabled caps my framerate at the desktop monitor refresh rate with Windows 10 :/. Is there a way I can disable whatever feature caps this?
If I switch the game to fullscreen with G-Sync the fps is uncapped again. If I disable G-Sync and run in windowed borderless the fps is uncapped. I can tweak any number of settings and climb above the refresh rate in windowed mode providing G-Sync is disabled, makes absolutely no sense to me as G-Sync isnt supposed to cap the fps at the refresh rate without a frame limiter in place.
As soon as G-Sync + windowed mode is enabled my fps caps to the monitor refresh rate when gaming... I would like windowed mode so much more without the fps cap. Anyone can help with this?
