G-Sync not working with V-Sync off?

See how far you can push it - I can only guess at the most optimal value as it might be different to what works on the Swift but its generally been a thing with G-Sync that capping slightly under the max refresh reduces input latency considerably.

That's mostly the case with Free-sync. G-Sync caps it's self. Well at least it does for me.

I've seen some people saying G-Sync caps 1-2 fps under the max refresh for them but it runs at 144fps/hz for me (or atleast my previous Swift did I've not tried on the replacement but I'd assume it was a driver level thing).

EDIT: Nope mine definitely caps at 144fps and is noticeably more responsive even capping it down a couple of fps.

I just use G-Sync enabled in the NCP and V-Sync enabled in the NCP which caps the frames to my max refresh rate of my monitor. Works a charm and no problems with the latest drivers.

I just had a go with heaven and it capped my 144hz swift and didn't go over.

If you allow Gsync to cap at 144hz then it's just doing what a normal monitor does with Vsync enabled, isn't it?

I can tell when G-Sync is on or off instantly and it runs flawless and has always done for me at 144Hz. I know a lot of people cap at 143 or even 143.5 but I have never seen the need. No tearing and no stutter.

Its not about capping at the max refresh rate - with G-Sync enabled capping slightly below it usually results in lower input latency for some reason - some people have claimed G-Sync is capping at 142-143fps with the same effect of reduced latency for them but it isn't for me - I have to manually cap it.

do you use rivatuner to manually cap it a few fps less?
