i would say at 24" then stay at 1080p but if you go 27" then 1440p

24" 1440p looks fantastic. The obvious choice and the monitor i use is the Dell S2417DG. Just needs gamma tweaking and then it's perfect. 1080p still looks pretty crap at 24" and does no justice to textures in modern games.

1080p at 24" is just way too low, it looks awful for text etc these days when that is the res phones have! I happily use 1920x1200 on my 13 Inch laptop and when I go back to my 24 inch 1920x1200 its awful

I use 1900x1200 24" It's perfect.

1900x1200 13" would be too small.

Disagree, though depending what i'm doing i switch between that and 1680x1050 (it's a macbook pro).

1920x1200 just looks pixellated at 24"

(typing this on a 24" 1920x1200 display..)
